The brief:
To design, make, and install a dining table and breakfast bar façade with integrated lighting at a private residence in Aughton, Lancashire.
Following a design consultation, a cracked ice design was selected for the work tops and laminated images were chosen for the curved bar façade.
The curved and laminated glass façade for the breakfast bar features printed tree images, back lit with an LED sheet. The curved breakfast bar top is over 3 metres long and the radius of the curve created the challenge of a natural flex in the glass contracting on the tighter radius - when laminating 3 glass pieces like this it is very challenging - and that is before the middle layer is shattered!
The dining table required 90 degree corners – a challenging specification to achieve with cracked ice and a polished point on the corner. The design of the legs to the dining table were also originated by Daedalian and were sourced via our preferred metalwork suppliers.
