The Client:
The Gleneagles Townhouse is the new city-centre offering from Ennismore, owners of the famous Gleneagles hotel and estate in Perthshire.
This hotel and private members club has taken up residence in the listed former headquarters of the Bank of Scotland on St Andrew Square.
The Brief
Daedalian Glass Studios were commissioned to create a series of stained glass panels to fit around the main bar area of The Spence - the hotels' all-day dining restaurant.
What we did
Daedalian Glass Studios were first approached to help develop the brief for stained glass panels around the main bar area of the Spence. The team offered free-of-charge consultations to narrow down the design brief which were followed up with design sketches and glass samples to choose from.
The approved design features 52no. panels of various sizes. These were manufactured over the space of 6 weeks by the studios stained glass specialists and the panels were packed in crates, for installation by the principal contractor.
