Here at Daedalian Glass Studios, we’ve been attending and exhibiting at the Surface Design Show since 2010 and this year was by far our busiest to date! Our stand showcased a comprehensive range of the glass designs that we have achieved for our clients through a mix of our knowledge and skill when it comes to the manufacturing processes we have available at our studios on the Fylde Coast. The stand we set up at the show exhibited a number of specific designs including extracts of the neo-classical pilasters for two large projects that we have been working on over the last 12 months.
The Stand Itself
The range we had on the stand was very broad as the neo-classical, contrasting with our contemporary designs, displayed the wide range of styles that we’re able to achieve whilst also showing off the technical aspects of what we can deliver. One other piece we had was a Corinthian column; made up of 22 components and designed with a fully maintainable light box which was built around a structural ‘I’ beam. During our time at the show we had a wide range of interest in our stand. From fine artists who were interested in coming to work at our studios to super yacht designs and everything in between.
Artist Interest
Our products also attracted a wide range of interests. Some products to note were our unique laminated interlayers, bespoke etched designs and also our cast glass. The most popular designs seemed to be the Dolcer Mirror, Lalique, the Art Deco deep carve etching and laminated stone veneers and two others to note were our Reeded Variations and the Auric Fused Glass.
