The Client:
David Linley Furniture ltd. was founded by David Albert Charles Armstrong-Jones, 2nd Earl of Snowdon (styled as Viscount Linley until 2017) in 1985. Now known as Linley, the company works are sold via London retail outlets in Belgravia, Harrods Department Store, and the Burlington Arcade.
The Brief:
To create a floor-to-ceiling, semi-transparent glass partition screen for Linley's outlet at Harrods Department Store, Knightsbridge, London.
Daedalian Glass Studios created three semi-transparent laminated glass panels for the Linley concession at Harrods department store in Knightsbridge, London. The panels form a partition wall and have the Linley logo bonded to the surface.
They were manufactured from two layers of 6mm toughened, low-iron glass with polished edges and the central panel had two cutouts in the base to house electrical sockets. Linley supplied Daedalian Glass Studios with the fabric used as an interlayer from their own library. Lastly the Linley sign was bonded to the surface of the panels to complete the partition screen.
