Prestons of Guildford is the latest store from the national diamond retailer. On entering the store, customers see this showpiece spiral glass staircase. The treads are 10mm toughened low iron glass kiln formed with a “Leaf” design, laminated to two more plain toughened low iron glass panels. The leading edges are sandblasted for anti-slip protection.
When you reach the first floor level, the curved toughened and laminated balustrade has multiple layers of autumnal coloured fabrics with pleats. Sandblasted dragonflies and butterflies were then added and finally fused irridised glass dragonflies were bonded to the surface giving a tactile and three dimensional effect. The main entrance door handles are coloured lead crystal, cast into a leaf design. Two different colour sets were provided to suit seasons – autumn and summer; the leaves are bonded to metal backing plates and fixed to the brass door frame.
Prestons of Guildford now shines brighter than ever with their new showroom inspired by late 20th Century Scandinavian design – produced by Daedalian Glass Studios. This is their very first showroom in the South East of England, and already it has been instantly established as the destination diamond retailer.
