Cast Glass Architectural Mouldings by Daedalian Glass Studios

Cast glass architectural mouldings are an increasingly popular trend in luxury interior design. This cross-sector trend connects with Daedalian Glass Studios having fielded enquiries on 5 star hospitality, super-prime residential, and luxury retail projects.

Our studio team recently completed the sampling stage on such a project, and we thought it looked so beautiful that we just had to share it! This cast glass architectural moulding is also hand-silvered on the back and one of the side faces. Check out the video below to see how it shimmers whilst rotating on a turntable:

Manufacturing cast glass architectural mouldings

One of Daedalian Glass Studios specialities is the design and manufacturing of glass that is hard to source – the bespoke, the unique, the over-sized, and the innovative designs that nobody is quite sure how to bring to reality.

As a result, many hours of human labour are dedicated to the production of design samples for clients. For this sample, the stages of its production are as follows:

Creating a CAD drawing to perfect the design.
3D printing the architectural moulding.
Manufacturing a plaster refractory mould from the 3D print.
Casting glass into the plaster refractory mould in our kiln.
Fine hand-polishing of the cast glass architectural moulding.
Hand-silvering the cast glass sample.
