Davia was made the first female president of the British Glass Manufacturers Confederation from January 2015 till December 2016.
She is the founder and creative inspiration behind Daedalian Glass Studios and while Daedalian occasionally collaborate with other artists, the majority of pieces are her designs. She possesses an immense passion for glass and started her career as a glass blower before moving into architectural glass making.
She now focusses her artistic and technical skill as a dedicated glass designer and maker on large scale projects, and passing her skills on to the production and design team here at Daedalian Glass Studios.
Chris co-founded Daedalian Glass Studios with his wife Davia in 1986 and possesses over 40 years’ experience in the construction industry, across a variety of sectors from civil engineering to high-end and luxury residential properties.
He provides his expertise in the logistical side of operations at Daedalian Glass Studios and is a specialist at working with architectural design on site, assessing the practicalities of projects, and the installation of glass structures. He also enjoys working with the installation team at Daedalian and passing on his skills to them.
He is looking forward to the day when his son Joe will take full control over the family business.
Joe was brought up in the glass industry and worked in the glass studio from an early age. He took a six-year hiatus from the family business and worked in corporate finance in London for a major UK bank. During this time he experiencing middle and front office roles working on technical processes, relationship management and also structured finance transactions. He returned as a company director in 2012 to realise the succession plan, having yearned to be more involved in the business during his time in London.
Joe’s experience in a corporate environment has led to the development of a more structured approach at Daedalian Glass Studios with a greater focus on high-end customer experience.
He recently became a father and is looking forward to the day when his son will take over from him.
